Reaching Out

Bringing God’s love and hope

To one life at a time

God has a big plan for our community and our town and we want to pursue the dreams He places in our hearts for our part in His big plan. We believe Jesus has called His church to love and serve the community and that we can only do this with God’s help and together with God’s people. We see God’s heart is to break the chains of poverty, injustice and brokenness, and for us to love actively.

Missional Communities

A Missional Community is a close-knit spiritual family of Christians on mission together. The size of an extended family, MC’s are united around a shared aim of reaching a particular neighbourhood or network of relationships with the good news of Jesus.

Groups meet 3-4 times a month, attending to the three dimensions of Christian life – up, in and out….

Family Support

A key part of our vision as a church is restoration of families. We seek to help build and nurture relationships between family members and between couples.

Throughout the year we run events for families such as the Easter Eggstravaganza that includes an Easter Egg Hunt, Picnics and Light Party.

We run the Family Support Group to strengthen families with pre-school children who are under stress by providing a support group for the mothers and their children. Families are referred to us by professionals in the community.

Some sessions look at life issues and skills, whilst others are more recreational. These group sessions with guided discussion help women gain confidence and improve the quality of their own and their children’s lives. They find new ways of coping and handling difficult situations that arise in life. Relationships are built with other mothers and volunteers helping to provide friendship and support needed.

The children learn to play happily together in a structured crèche session, helping to prepare them for nursery and school. The group enables the mothers to strengthen both themselves and their family unit.

The CAP Money Course is a revolutionary free money management course that teaches people budgeting skills and a simple cash-based system that really works. The course will help anyone to gain more control over their finances so that they can save, give and prevent debt. The CAP Money Course is devised by the award winning debt counselling charity, Christians Against Poverty.

No matter what your financial situation, the CAP Money Course will help you one– whether you are financially well off or not, in debt or not, whether you are employed, self-employed, or on benefits.

Over 10,000 people each year across the UK go on the CAP Money Course. 90% of them say that they feel more in control of their money as a result, and 98% of them (49 out of every 50!) say they would recommend the course to their friends.

You don’t need to be clever with numbers and figures and you don’t need to tell anyone else about your personal finances – you can just take the tools and techniques that the course teaches and make use of them to improve your financial situation.

The Noise

The Noise is about showing God’s love practically and generously to our community.

One way we do this is by holding a fun day at St Andrew’s. We aslo go out into the community to do projects to lend a helping hand in practical ways such as clearing an overgrown garden or decorating a room to support people who are struggling and need some support.

“The Noise is such an amazing day of gathering the community together, seeing
people meeting old friends and making new ones.”

The noise

The Noise is a day of building friendships across the community as we gather together to enjoy inflatables, face painting, children’s craft, football, café and more!
