In July 2020, St Andrew’s officially became one of four resourcing churches in the Diocese of Oxford. This redesignation together with a significant investment of funding from the Church Commissioners Strategic Development Fund enables us to play a particular role in the Oxford Diocese, Wycombe Deanery and across our region.
Resourcing churches are being created across the Church of England as part of a strategic policy to see the church renewed and revitalized. All resourcing churches are seeking to do three things in partnership with their Diocesan Bishop:
St Andrew’s will be looking to revitalize churches in the Wycombe area and support and encourage other churches to reach out in new forms of mission and evangelism.
At St Andrew’s, we want to encourage and support churches across our region through leadership groups that provide prayer, teaching, worship and a chance to network with other leaders. We currently have two main networks that we host on a regular basis:
Church leaders from across the Wycombe area meet for a breakfast, a chance to network with other leaders and a time to pray for our town. We will also discuss initiatives that we can support together that are bigger than one local church.
We have leaders from a wide number of different denominations, and anyone is welcome to join us. We meet every third Wednesday, on a bi-monthly basis on the third Wednesday at 8am.
The New Wine Leadership Network is here to support and equip those with the responsibility of leading their church, to realise our shared vision of ‘local churches changing nations’.
This New Wine area gathering consists of church leaders around South Bucks, East Oxfordshire and into West Herts. Led by Simon Dust and Jonny Dade, we would love to have you join us to be encouraged in all that you are doing in your local church.
We have two goals as a network:
We meet termly at St Andrew’s Church from 12-2pm mostly on a Wednesday. Please bring your own lunch and we will provide drinks. Over lunch it is a chance to meet other leaders in your area. Each time we meet, we usually have a speaker to encourage us in an aspect of leadership, followed by a chance to receive ministry and prayer.
If you would like to join us, please do contact us or sign up to the New Wine Network.
