In what we now know as The Great Commission, Jesus sent his disciples to the nations with all authority and power, to make disciples of others. From the very beginning, the Church has always understood itself as being “sent” (or ‘apostolic’ to use the theological term). Today St Andrew’s celebrates this in a new way as we commission and send our church planting team to SMG Church in Sands and Castlefield, to be part of God’s mission in that community.
