Serving in Church

St. Andrews is a thriving community, who belive in helping one another. If you would like to find out how you can get involved take a look at the various ways you can volunteer below.

Sunday Serving

Host Team

If you wear a smile and enjoy speaking to people, then we would love you to join the Host Team, serving once a month. You will be welcoming people into the church as they arrive, and chatting to newcomers.

Sides Team

As a member of the Sides Team you would be assisting with communion set up and the collection, helping people find available seats, and assisting the Host Team as needed. Teams serve once a month.

Hospitality Team

As part of the Hospitality Team you would be making & serving drinks, and setting up and cleaning away the session. If you wear a smile well and would like to get to know more people, this is a great way to do that. Teams serve once a month.

PA Team

Operating the sound desk and Spotify to enable our Sunday worship. No prior experience necessary, but a willingness to be trained. Serving once a month, including a Thursday rehearsal.

Proclaim

Operating Proclaim, our presentation software, to display song words, Bible verses, and slides used during the service. As well as assisting with the webstreaming. Serving once a month.

Camera Operator

Operating the camera that is used to livestream the services on YouTube. No experience necessary, training will be given. Serving once a month.

Worship Team

Singing and/or playing an instrument in the worship band at least once a month, including a Thursday rehearsal the week you are due to play.

Prayer Ministry

Being available to pray for people at the end of the service, in expectation, by the power of the Spirit. Available to attend prayer ministry training.

Children & Youth

Sunday Kids

Our Children’s Groups meet on a Sunday morning during the church service. There are lots of ways to help with children’s work, so if you are passionate about seeing children encounter Jesus, please get in touch.

Sunday Youth

Ignite & Momentum meet on a Sunday morning during the church service. If you are passionate about young people and seeing them grow in their faith and friendship with others, we would love to hear from you.

Starlight

Starlight runs on a Thursday from 9.30am-11.30am (term time). There are a variety of tasks from setting up, helping to make the drinks and snacks, chatting to parents, and tidying away.

Youth Hubs

Youth hubs for older & younger youth meet on weekday evenings during term time. If you are passionate about supporting young people and seeing them grow in their faith and friendship with others, we would love to hear from you.

Insight Creche

Insight small group meet at church on a Monday at 10am during term time. Are you available to help with childcare for the babies and toddlers, so the mum’s can focus on quality time together, Bible study and prayer?

Catalyst

Catalyst is a youth club that is run over at East Side Youth Centre on a Friday evening. Can you help once a month 7-9pm? We are looking for leaders who are young at heart to play football, serve in the tuckshop and be a warm and welcoming face to the youth in our community.

Pastoral Care

Coming alongside others and visiting people in their time of need. You will need to have empathy, people skills and a commitment to confidentiality.

Lifts

Would you be available to give a lift to an elderly or vulnerable person on an ad-hoc basis? Maybe to church, Lunch Club or a doctor’s appointment?

Occassional Meals

Are you available to provide a meal for people when they need some extra support? This can be due to sickness or having a new baby.

PrayerNet

Are a prayer warrior? We have an active Prayernet, where we respond to prayer requests for urgent needs in the church and community.

Mentoring

Another important way in which church members come alongside someone else encouraging them on their spiritual journey.

Weekly Outreach

Lunch Club

Lunch Club takes place on a Wednesday from 1.15pm-3.30pm. Are you available to help support the set up and running of Lunch Club? Do you have a heart for the isolated and elderly in our community?

Renew Space

Renew Space takes place on a Wednesday from 9.30-11.30am. Coming alongside those who are struggling with mental health. Would you be available help serve drinks and to chat to those who come along?

Family Support Group

Family Support Group runs on a Tuesday morning (term time), to help support struggling families. Could you help look after toddlers and babies whilst the mum’s are in the sessions, or could you help prepare and serve lunch?

Church Building

Maintenance

Are you available to help with painting, decorating, or general maintenance of the church building, on an ad-hoc basis? If so, we would love to hear from you!

Gardening

Do you enjoy gardening and could you help us look after our church grounds? Could you cut the grass, trim the hedges, or look after a flowerbed?
