No Refugee Alone

St. Andrew’s welcomes refugees and asylum seekers to our community and town. Reaching out to be a blessing to those who are in need of help, offering friendship and support.

Welcome Churches, which St. Andrew’s is a part of, works with churches around the UK to connect them with refugees and asylum seekers in their communities. For more information on what Welcome Churches is doing in response to the Ukrainian crisis, have a look at https://welcomechurches.org/ukraine-welcome/ St Andrew’s is registered with them and ready to be connected with families in need.

There are lots of ways to offer help and support to refugees even if you don’t have space to offer accommodation.

  • Donate furniture
  • Transport furniture
  • Share toys/children’s book to help with learning English
  • Meet up to share a tea/coffee
  • Offer to go out for a walk to help people get to know their neighbourhood
  • Pass on ideas for voluntary work opportunities/activities people can take part in
  • Help put on a social event for refugees
