New Pioneer Minister
We are really pleased to announce the appointment of Jonny Dade as the Pioneer Minister to St Mary and St George’s Church, High Wycombe - a newly created locally supported post. He will be licensed to this new role on Wednesday 29th August at St Andrew’s Church. We look forward to the next steps in the exciting journey that God is taking us on as we look to revitalise the life of St Mary and St George and seek to be God’s transforming presence at the heart of the community on the west side of town.
Jonny Dade & Anna have been married for nearly 5 years. They met at Holy Trinity Church in Leicester - they ended up in the same worship band, and leading the youth ministry together! Anna had moved to Leicester to complete her teacher training and Jonny had been a student there for several years and was then completing his Masters degree. They married at the end of Jonny’s first year at theological college, and lived in Durham for a further 2 years, before then moving to Northampton where he has just completed his curacy training.
They both enjoy music and travelling (they’ve managed to visit 4 continents in the last 4 years!).
Anna is originally from Northern Ireland, and most of her family still lives there. She moved to England in 2007 to study at Cambridge University, before then moving to Leicester in 2010 to complete her teacher training through Teach First. She is qualified in teaching both mathematics and ICT and has now taught in 3 different secondary schools and held a variety of roles. In her spare time, Anna enjoys jigsaws, learning Spanish, playing the piano and drinking fancy hot chocolates with friends!
Jonny is from…all over the place (he moved a lot as a child/teenager!) He studied Drama at university in Leicester, before then doing a part-time postgraduate degree alongside working as a teaching assistant in a secondary school. During his time in Leicester he was very involved in Holy Trinity Church including leading the youth ministry for a short time and pioneering a missional community. In 2012 he moved to Durham to begin training for ordained ministry at Cranmer Hall. In 2015 he was ordained within Peterborough Diocese and has been serving as a Curate at St Giles Church in Northampton where his role has included overseeing ministry with young adults and students.
In his spare time Jonny enjoys hill walking, theatre and being a connoisseur of real ale!
Following Jonny and Anna’s arrival, we will be working on a vision for the Church Plant to be launched. This is a draft road map as we work with St Mary and St George and the new Missional Community that is being formed.
