Lighthouse is a holiday week for children between the ages of 4 and 11 run by Christians from local churches. Children spend a week having fun and finding out more about Jesus!
St Andrew’s Church is primarily involved with Lighthouse at two sites: Lighthouse Hazlemere at Sir William Ramsay School and Lighthouse High Wycombe at Highcrest Academy, Hatters Lane!. You can find out more about the sites here
Fresh Cafe is an event held during the evenings of Lighthouse week for 11-17 year olds. We take over the site at Lighthouse Hazlemere across 3 nights and fill it with lots of things to do, creating a fun safe environment for the young people to hang out and catch up with friends.
Parents & Toddlers for High Wycombe happens at St Andrew’s Church. Over 100 0-3year olds also get a chance to play, sing, do craft and eat loads of cake! Mum’s, dad’s and carers get share too!
As always the only limiting factor on the number of children we can take is the number of adult volunteers we have to act as leaders. There are a great variety of roles to be filled – lots working directly with the children, but loads of other tasks need doing, the shop, a welcoming cafe, registrations, site team, security, setting up and breaking site, PA & AV, admin tasks.
The Space caters for children with special needs at Lighthouse. The Lighthouse organisers will do all they can to accommodate such applications but in order to ensure the appropriate support is in place it is essential that you tell them well in advance if your child has additional help at school or has a statement.
