100 years since the guns fell silent on the Western Front and world said, ‘never again’ what does the Christian Gospel have to say to a world still ravaged by war and human conflict?
With the people of God under siege from every side and the future looking bleak, the prophet Isaiah would have been confronted with a similar question in 800BC. And yet the LORD spoke powerfully through him a message of restoration, hope and promise and gave him a vision of a King and a Kingdom of peace and justice that would endure forever – a vision fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. As we remember the fallen and lament the tragedy of war, we are challenged to remember that King Jesus is still on His throne and His Kingdom is at hand.
