Our watches tell us we’re carried on into the future at the same rate – 60 minutes in every hour. But that’s not what it feels like is it? So where is this remorseless passage of time is headed? What happens when time runs out for us and for our planet and what should we be doing about it in the meantime? In 2 Peter 3 Peter gives us three key instructions to help us find the answers – “do not forget this one thing”, “recall the words spoken in the past” and… “live holy and godly lives”. As we look at each in relation to the climate crisis, we find Peter assuaging doubt, alleviating despair, giving us reasons for hope and challenging our common excuses for inaction.
